The Greenwich International Film Festival returns for its 5th year on May 29th to June 2nd 2019. We are very excited for the return of the festival not only for its fine slate of films, but the fact the focus of the festival has been to use film to make an impact, create awareness and inspire change.
Over the 5 days of the festival GIFF will be hosting parties, panel discussions, a concert with Kesha, and the screening of no less than _____ films. Screenings will include full narrative films, documentaries, and several short film categories including Connecticut Shorts (from local filmmakers), Kids Shorts, Documentary Shorts, and Narrative shorts. There are so many great films and not enough time! We encourage you to go to the GIFF website and plan ahead so as to experience as much great film as possible.
As this is our 4th year in a row covering the Festival, we are very excited when this time of year comes around. Here are some of the Festival highlights we are looking forward to attending.
- The 5-Year EPIC Anniversary Party with a concert by Kesha, award presentation by actress Connie Nielsen, DJ April Larken, VIP Lounge, Cocktails, and Special Performances! This year the event is moved to the fantastic Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY which is just over the border with Greenwich. The party is on Saturday June 1 at 7:30 pm.
- GIFF will host the 2019 Changemaker Gala on May 30th, with a Meet and Greet cocktail reception at Betteridge from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by a black tie awards dinner at L’Escale from 8:00 to 10:30 p.m. This prestigious event will honor Celebrity Changemaker, Eva Longoria, for her work with the Eva Longoria Foundation, and Community Changemaker, Bobby Walker, for his work with the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich. As in prior years, this is a very special event which raises not only awareness but for the charity partners of the Festival.
- Panel Discussions- The Cole Auditorium at the Greenwich Library will host several panel discussions featuring writers, actors, directors and more. These behind the scene discussions are fascinating and include some great subject matter and we are interested in are “The Ability in Disability” about the lack of the disabled actors in film, and “Stortytelling to Inspire Change” with female filmmakers who are using film to create change
- Films- there are so many to choose from over the festival, so we always plan in advance. On our slate are several Narrative Films, documentaries, and short films. The festival programmers have put together a dynamic list of films with something for everyone. As always the festival focus is to bring about positive change in our world and make an impact through film.
This year’s festival will be here before you know it . For more information and tickets:
