The classic 1970s rock band, “America” will be live on stage performing their numerous hits. The Palace Theater in Stamford will host the band on Saturday March 26th at 8pm for a special evening of live music.
America was formed in 1970 in London by three young musicians who were the sons of US Air Force personnel stationed in the UK. The band consisted of Dewey Bunnell, Dan Peek and Gerry Beckley. The trio created a sound based on acoustic guitar and three part harmony vocals. Similar in concept to Crosby, Stills and Nash, America would develop their own distinctive sound and gain the affection of fans worldwide.
Their hits dominated radio during the 70s and into the 80s and included “Horse with No Name”, “Ventura Highway”, “Tin Man”, “I Need You”, “Sister Golden Hair”, “Lonely People” and so many more.
For this tour Dewey Bunnell and Gerry Beckley and the rest of the band will be presenting a great show that will entertain old and new fans alike.
Don’t miss this special evening of music right in our backyard at a classic venue. Please check the theater’s website prior to the show date for updated Covid-19 protocols
